We. Are. So. Back. Some quick positive/negative thoughts from GW 1. I’ll be back in a few days with 3-5 GW targets, and GW2 streamers.
Gyokeres: Bad. Honestly looked like Darwin 2.0. It’s certainly not time to panic yet, but if Havertz is gettable, and you don’t like your 3rd forward…it could be a small gamble with big upside
Cuhna: Good. Arsenal were sitting back, but I like what I saw. Looked like the most promising United attacking asset based on that first match.
Ekitike: Good. Could be a top 15 player if the Isak transfer doesn’t happen, or end up with 100 points for the season if it does happen. Crazy variance.
Wirtz/Kerkez: Bad. Kerkez probably the bigger worry with Robertson there as an option. Monitor
Strand Larsen: Good. Wolves got smoked, but I thought their attack was actually OK (particularly Larsen). A buy low candidate if his owner is panicking in the next few weeks.
Rutter & Minteh: Mixed. Two of the preseason picks I liked. Rutter started up top (what we were hoping for), and had a nice run to win a penalty. But he didn’t do much else, which is a bit worrying with Welbeck sitting right there. I thought Minteh looked dangerous, but happened to come up against a really strong defender in Bassey.
King (fulham): Good. He looked like a livewire. Not sure if the returns will come immediately, but Fulham have 3 in 4 at home, with 2 against leeds/brentford.
Dorgu: Good. Playing really high up, and should get involved in the attack. Hit the post.
Brentford: Bad. Very bad…BUT, I do think they’ll improve going forward once they have Schade, Henderson, Damsgaard and Ouattara all starting. Potential buy-low candidates here
Forrest: Good. I have big doubts once the Europa league starts, but you can definitely target their players for these first 5 gameweeks.
City & Liverpool: Goals. There will be lots of goals in their matches, at both ends. Liverpool look vulnerable at the back. City despite not conceding, also looked slightly vulnerable.
Arsenal: More of the same? Basically the opposite of City and Liverpool. It needs to be remembered that United away is a tough match. However, I was surprised to see Arsenal so happy to sit back at 0-0 and 0-1. Maybe its because they saw United as a counter attacking threat, but it should be monitored.
Eze to Arsenal, he was my 2nd pick in a 16-man draft,
Do you think he's a hold or trade?
I had hoped he gets 150-160 points from the season
With Kai out indefinitely, would Trossard or Merino be the next man up?
Separately, just picked up Dorgu in my 8-man, would you prioritise him over Trossard?
